2023- 2024 Kindergarten Enrollment
Children with a 5th birthday between September 2, 2022 and September 1, 2023 (born between September 2, 2017 and September 1, 2018) are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year.
If your child's 5th birthday is between September 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024 (born between September 2, 2018 and April 2, 2019), they will be enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year.
For students who turn five between June 1, 2023 and September 1, 2023, and whose parents would like them to attend TK rather than Kindergarten, you must first enroll your child in their age appropriate grade of Kindergarten. Parents of eligible students will have an opportunity to add their student to a TK Interest List within the digital enrollment packet. The TK Interest List will be open from April 1, 2023, at 8 a.m. through April 14, 2023, at 5 p.m. *The TK Interest List is only open to students living within PUSD boundaries.
Please note: TK placement is NOT guaranteed. Students will be seated on a space-available basis according to the TK Interest List.

PUSD is aware of the amendment to California Education Code 48000(c) that permits school districts the option to enroll students who turn 5 after April 2nd to be admitted to the TK program. After a review of the impact this option would have on our District, we enroll only students who meet the cut-off dates and not children who turn 5 after April 2nd into TK.
